The FEEDING

Inara and I spent a couple days together last week because I had some time off from my Swedish classes. Maria was off doing something. I'm not sure what. Probably nothing important.

On Monday this meant we painted and went swinging. On Friday this meant we fed the ducks and went swinging.  More accurately, fed the pigeons, seagulls and crows. It seems ducks just don't have the aggressive peck your opponents into submission attitude needed to get the bread.

Maria may have discussed this before but the spot where the ducks hang out is like a gladiatorial ring of poultry/fowl. The area surrounding the small pond they  live in is marked by the signs of combat. The ground is literally covered in the remains of bread. Ahem. I comment on it in the video.

Inara didn't really get the concept of 'throwing' bread to the birds and mostly wanted them
to eat it out of her hand.  The only birds willing to do that were pigeons, who were subsequently jumped by seagulls who were in turn jumped by crows. The ducks looked on blankly.

Ultimately Inara grew bored of the combat and wandered off towards the swings, leaving me surrounded by birds.

Enjoy.

    1. Haha, but they're good birds! Pretty harmless until you run out bread.
